This is a good point and one I do explore a little bit in the Politico piece — that men are less likely to seek out treatment for mental health reasons, and so less likely to get diagnoses and that too, can be traced to double standards and expectations about who is expected to seek out therapy. On a related note, I have covered disparities in healthcare, and it seems women over-treated for and over-diagnosed with mental illness.
