As someone who actually did retain her virginity well into adulthood (though not for lack of men trying to rape me), and know many other “progressives” who also did as well (and in fact, many so-called “conservatives” I knew — esp among men — were the promiscuous ones), the reason why Kavanaugh’s assertions were not taken seriously was not because progressives cannot fathom one choosing to be a virgin till adulthood. It’s not taken seriously because what he claims in terms of his choirboy behavior as a teenager (sexually and otherwise) completely contradicts what his own friends and acquaintances attest to him being like as an adolescent and what his own yearbooks and calendars relayed about his actual behavior at the time. Everyone knows what a “Devil’s Triangle” is — it’s a threesome with two men and a woman — his own roommate knew the term to be as much. Nowhere in American lexicon is it known as a drinking game of any sort. “Renate Alumnus” was code for “we’ve all slept or hooked up with this girl, Renate” (which were lies). Other men who were in the club admitted as much. Also, FYI — one can totally be a virgin and also a sexual harasser, assaulter, and attempted rapist. On the other hand, one can be very promiscuous and care and adhere to the concept of consent. The fact that Kavanaugh’s defense of not being an attempted rapist is that he was a longtime virgin shows how little he and men like him understand this basic sex ed lesson. He can totally have been a virgin, and still assaulted and tried to rape women. In fact, there are men out there who rape for that reason, because they can’t get any on their own — or, like the Santa Barbara shooter — go on a shooting rampage because they feel so entitled to fuck women the they want that they are outraged they can be denied. Virginity is not a virtue (ask the Catholic priests who fondle young boys). And if you are conflating chivalry with treating someone with dignity and respect — then we all could benefit from it and should exercise it. But chivalry as you are using it here, is borne out of thinking of the same thinking of women as inferior or less human, that also gives rise to rape. That’s why in all those lovely classic movies, those same gentlemanly men who treat women like fragile flowers on one hand are spanking, hitting them, kissing them w/o consent and even raping them.

It’s clear you didn’t read my post, so come here again to troll and I will block your responses.
